Andrea knew from an early age that she wanted to be an Interior Designer, in 7th grade, her math teacher assigned the students to draft their dream home using graph paper. It was an assignment that forever shaped her career. Throughout her childhood she could be found rearranging the accessories on her childhood home’s built-in-bookshelves or reconfiguring furniture in her bedroom. She also funneled her creativity into art exploration thru pottery classes in school as well as taking trips with her mom to visit Art Space in Raleigh, NC where various artists could be seen hard at work in their glass enclosed studios.
Andrea graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior design from Appalachian State University with a minor in Business Administration. In 2007, she passed the NCIDQ exam and became a certified interior designer. She moved to Atlanta out of college and landed a contract position with an architect team designing lake homes until she found a position at a commercial design firm. Andrea had a well-rounded experience in hospitality design and grasps the ability to think through the design and how it will function with the building as a whole. For her, design is never an afterthought but always at the forefront of any challenge.
When Andrea is not busy designing hotels, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, extended family, and friends, re-designing her own home, doing yoga, reading novels, enjoying a nice meal, and adding to her shoe collection!
